Capricorn babies are usually quite prim and proper and they believe in sticking to rules, although they do make up the rules as they go along. You may not know what these are until you break one. For example, his or her teddy should be placed sitting on the chest of drawers not lying down in a corner somewhere. Break the rules and watch him or her frown with disappointment. Your Capricorn baby is strong willed, they know what they like and what they don't and you'll soon discover which is which.

Unlike other more exuberant signs,they won't throw the toast at the window or the orange juice on the floor, they'll just look at the toast, at the orange juice and then at you, and you'll soon get the picture. Capricorn baby won't throw temper tantrums  either and they usually accept a "no" without a whine, unless of course it's something really important. Then you'll get that look for hours while they fathom a way to make  you change your mind. Usually the continuing reproachful silence is enough for you to say, " oh alright then" and, you'll be rewarded with a kiss and a smile. Smiling instantly transforms the Capricorn. They don't just smile with their eyes and mouth, they seem to smile with their whole face.

Your Capricorn baby likes routine they tend to get a bit grizzly when they're disrupted. So, if your planning an evening out, particularly in the early days, bring the babysitter to the baby not vise versa. Capricorns like familiar things around them, especially old things you want to throw out - like that chewed up bit of blanket. They like their own beds and they will kick up when you try to move them from a bassinet to a big cot, and cot to a bed, even though their legs are starting to stick over the edge.

When they toddle, they won't give you to many heart stopping moments. First, he or she will crawl, but before they crawl they will sit and think. Their mind is working like this, "alright let's get organized, Im going to crawl", then they'll look around for the place they are going to crawl to and take a deep breathe before setting off.  Don't help!  Capricorn wants to do this on hie or her own and, what ever you do... don't say "well done" and pick up your baby half way through as he or she will just scream, and scream. If he or she has a goal,such as a chair, then that's where they were going and you've just spoiled it and they have to start all over again.

All through life the Capricorn will set him or herself goals. It's the sign of the mountain goat after all! Every Capricorn has a mountain to climb. It might be the chair, or to stand up, whatever it is, the mountain is always there, and once one peak is conquered they will move onto the next. Without the mountain to climb, the little Capricorn feels lost and aimless. They may not get to the top of the mountain very quickly, but they will get there.

All Capricorns are ambitious, they're good at hiding it but, never underestimate your little ones determination. Once they have a idea in their head it's hard to shift. If your little Capricorn, aged two, tells you he or she wants to be a police officer, don't laugh they are probably watching you like a hawk waiting for you to slip up already.

They're popular with other children but they don't much like big parties. Little Capricorn will very much like painting and music.
Pretending to be a grown up is a favourite game of theirs. Most of all they like making something practical, like a pencil container out of a corn flakes box.

Encourage Capricorn to play outside, they need fresh air to put some colour in those pale cheeks.
Your Capricorn should have very few problems at school. They're not quick but they are bright, thourough and concentrate well. Although, they are timid when it comes to answering questions in class. They'll always save their pocket money and, secretly they love being the centre of attention(although they do blush).

They don't fizz with energy like other signs but they are tireless- they'll refuse to go to bed even when their eyes are half closed.

Your Capricorn baby is kind and love taking care of pets - they look after other people too, and that includes you! If they sense your not well or happy, a worried frown will cross their faces then they'll try and wrap you up in blankets and tell you to go to bed. They're not showy but they love deeply and their affection is always genuine.
